During the month of January, we read poems by Rabindranath Tagore (May 7, 1861 - August 7, 1941) The bard of Bengal who brought out the essence of Eastern spirituality in his poetry like no other poet. His spiritual vision, as he said, is infused "with the ancient spirit of India as revealed in our sacred texts and manifested in the life of today."

Rabindranath Tagore: "Peace, My Heart"

Tagore wrote this poem as part of his cycle, "The Gardener" (1915). He uses "peace" in the sense of finding peace in the face of impending death.

61
Peace, my heart, let the time for the parting be sweet.
Let it not be a death but completeness.
Let love melt into memory and pain into songs.
Let the flight through the sky end in the folding of the wings
   over the nest.
Let the last touch of your hands be gentle like the flower of the
   night.
Stand still, O Beautiful End, for a moment, and say your last
words in silence. I bow to you and hold up my lamp to light you on your way.

Multicultural Children's Book Day 2021

USE Hashtag #ReadYourWorld

Diversity in children’s literature has been a topic of concern to movements like We Need Diverse Books and Multicultural Children’s Book DayAuthors, illustrators, educators and bloggers have been an important element to make sure children have access to books that celebrate diversity. Feature characters from diverse cultures, countries and race are an important building block of the learning process in classroom and at home. It is fundamental to teach students from early age that different does not mean to be wrong.

When I was a child,  I always dreamed of traveling around the world , visiting different places, meeting people with different languages, and tasting delicious foods from around the world... I perfect dream that I made it reality over the years.

I’m pleased to be part of MCBD since June 2015 not only as an author, but also as a Reviewer to Multicultural Children’s Book Day. This event has helped me promote my books, increase followers in my social media, and meet authors from around the world.

As a Book Reviewer, I've received, free of cost, books to review and donate to my local school library or classroom teacher who requests books for students. The reviews will be added to the Massive Review Linky on the date of the event.
My reviews and activities will be posted on Goodreads, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter and my BLOG LuzDelMes
