National Arbor Day is a holiday in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plan trees. According to history, it is always celebrated on the last Friday in April, but many states observe Arbor Day on different dates throughout the year based on best tree planting times in their area.

~ How to Prepare for an event? ~

12.  Tomar fotos y compartir con otros autores. Siempre se aprende compartiendo.

¿Me hizo falta algo?

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR AN EVENT?

There are many details to keep in mind when attending a national or international event, but the most important thing is do it with time and patience.
I find it very useful to make a list to achieve the desired success.
This is my check list:

1. Order books for sale on time.
2. Make business cards.
3. Prepare samples of advertising according to your budget.
4. Bring poster for promotion or stand.
5. Open an event on Facebook to invite contacts.
6. Use social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for promotion.
7. Make an article for the event to LinkedIn and reassembled on Pinterest.
8. Send invitations by email for those who doesn't use social media.
9. Prepare costumes and accessories appropriate for each day of the event.
10. Practice presentation in front of the mirror
11. Arrive on time
12. Take a lot of pictures and share with other authors. You will learn something NEW!
Do I need something else?

Conference and Workshop Benefits

After attending a small and massive conference in the same week-end last summer, I would love to share my experience and encourage you to attend the next conference or workshop in your area. It’s a great way to learn, connect with people, and get a fresh perspective of writing. But before you make the decision, I would suggest to consider the following tips:
1. SELECT carefully: Conferences vary from regional and small ones to national and huge events. Are you preparing for one big event with thousands of people around you? Take this in consideration before committing to a conference that doesn’t fit your need. Focus on your convenient goals.

2.  PREPARE watchfully: Revise Conference Schedule, Workshops, Lectures and Locations. Use any App or Website information to plan your own schedule. Reserve in a hotel near the event or at the event. It sounds crazy, but taking a conference in the same hotel you are staying or driving to the venue makes a HUGE difference. Conferences are not only a great source to learn, but also an exhausting experience.

3.  BRING essentials : if you are an author be sure to have business cards, enough books, promotional stands, and any swag (free stuff and giveaways offered by vendors at trade shows to encourage attendees to visit their booth). Swags vary according to your budget like bookmarks, pencils, buttons or bracelets. You can create your own Postcard using any Paint program in your computer. This is mine!
  4. FOCUS on your Goals: At the Conference, follow your pre-planned schedule, get on time to lectures and take at lot of photos. If you need brakes, take it! It is important to rest in order to enjoy the conference. Drink plenty of water and have snacks in your purse to avoid long lines. It also helps you save time and money.

5. ENJOY your adventure: At home, prepare for the after-conference. Send thank you cards to people who helped your over the event. Or sent e-mails to appreciate the new friendships you made. Post photos and engage with your audience in Social Media. It’s amazing how the power of technology help you promote your books.
