What is a Tercet?

April is set aside as National Poetry Month to celebrate poets and poetry. The Academy of American Poets and other  poetry organizations schedule events this month.

For more information visit: National Poetry Month.

My third poetry style is a Tercet (plural Tercets).

ter·cet /ˈtersət(noun)
  1. a set or group of three lines of verse rhyming together or connected by rhyme with an adjacent tercet. Example of three-line poem rhyming AAA; and Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “Ode to the West Wind” OR unrhyme three lines. Examples of poems in unrhymed tercets include Wallace Stevens’s “The Snow Man”
