This session aims to connect students globally through the joy of reading. Maritza will share her stories and poems, and students will have the chance to read aloud and discuss their favorite books. It’s an inspiring event designed to foster a love for reading and connect young readers worldwide.
About Maritza M. Mejia:
Maritza M. Mejia is a Colombian writer, poet, and lecturer based in Florida. She is the founder of the LuzDelMes Writing Project, which aims to create bridges of communication and collaboration between writers. As a cultural promoter, she organizes the “LuzDelMes International Literary Breakfast” to promote bilingual literature.
Maritza has received several awards for her contributions, including the “Crystal Apple Award 2006” for her volunteer service to the Broward community, the “Virtue Christian Poetry Award 2015,” and the “Latino Book Awards 2016” for Best Translation from English to Spanish.
