Kimono experience in Japan

Japan Experience LuzDelMes
Kimono rental at Uji, Kyoto - @Mejia2019
My experience of wearing a complete Kimono was absolutely unique and a good way to feel the Japanese cultural. I felt like a princess in those pieces of traditional garments.

According to the licensed professional kimono dressers at Aiwafuku in Uji, Kyoto rental, the typical woman's kimono outfit consists of twelve or more separate pieces that are worn, matched, and secured in prescribed ways, and an assistance may be required.

Choosing an appropriate type of kimono requires knowledge of the garment's symbolism and subtle social messages, reflecting the woman's age, marital status, and the level of formality of the occasion.

The Process took ten steps and an hour to be ready to go outside to walk in style and elegance. I was treated as a royal person with reverence and respect.

The Process:
First, you reserve your space, pay and select your kimono color.
Second, you leave your shoes and belonging on a bag with your name.
Third, the dresser gives you a shirt and pant underwear clothing with a Tabi (socks).
Four, the dresser adjust the underwear clothing with laces to help you shape your body.
Five, the dresser adjust the kimono to you in several steps with reverence and style.
Six, the hair dresser do your style according to your hair selection and add the flower.
Seven, the make-up area you select your colors.
Eight, the dresser gave you a selections for your ittle bag.
Nine, you walk outside the dresser room and select your Zori (Sandals)
Ten, you are directed to the picture area where you have your photo shots.

THEN, you are ready to go out and walk in the streets. The kimono doesn’t allow you to take big steps, but YES, you can sit down and walk in small steps for long time, it’s like walking with sandals with socks. The hard part is to go to the restroom, I didn’t try that part because you have to use a bathroom different of Occident style.
