Indie Voices Feature: Maritza M. Mejía

Bilingual Author | Poet | Educator | Advocate for Cultural Bridges

I’m Maritza M. Mejia, an indie author who believes in the power of storytelling to unite hearts and cultures. Writing in both English and Spanish allows me to reach readers across borders and share the beauty of two worlds that shape my voice.

My indie journey began with a simple desire — to tell stories that matter and inspire others to become their best selves. Through poetry, non-fiction, and bilingual fiction for children and adults, I explore themes of faith, respect, tolerance, and environmental justice.

📚 Books by Maritza M. Mejía:

  • Recent publication: Tres Décadas: La herencia que no llega – a heartfelt testimonial novel on family, memory, and resilience.

  • Poems, Thoughts, and More – a bilingual collection celebrating gratitude and reflection.

  • Luz del mes– a trilingual poetry collaboration (English, Spanish, and Greek) that raises awareness for environmental preservation.

  • First project: Lessons for Living – short bilingual children's books to inspire everyday hope, respect, and gratitude.

Being an indie author has given me the freedom to create authentically, connect directly with readers, and celebrate bilingual literature on my own terms. Every page I write is an act of faith, independence, and love for the written word.

💫 Follow my journey as I continue exploring new stories, voices, and ways to inspire.

Welcome November - Bienvenido Noviembre

 Reflections  by Maritza M. Mejía

During November, in some places, is commemorated the Day of the Death and Thanksgiving. Life and Death part of our essence. I invite you to give thanks not only for what we have, but for what we don't have. Be generous and share with the less fortunate.

                                                  Quatrain
All ghosts are gone
All souls remembered
Preparations are done
Welcome November!

Happy November!

 Noviembre
Los fantasmas se fueron
Las almas se recordaron
Preparaciones se hicieron
¡Bienvenido Noviembre!

¡Feliz Noviembre!
