Easter is the most
important and oldest feast on the Christian Calendar. It is a celebration of hope and joy with the resurrection of Jesus
Christ. Many
Orthodox Churches base their Easter date on the Julian calendar, which often
differs from Western Churches that use the Gregorian calendar.
This year 2016, Western Easter will be a week after the Spring/Fall equinox on March 27th to May 15th . The Orthodox Easter will begin on May 1st.
