Maritza Martinez Mejia’s Acceptance Speech

I am honored in accepting the 2015 CHRISTIAN POETRY AWARD for my first Bilingual Poetry book “Poems, Thoughts and More: Poemas, Pensamientos y Algo Más.”I have to recognize the excellent work of my editor, Diane DesRochers and my publisher, Walter Bodie who did a great job on putting together old photos from my trip to Greece to design the covers. Poetry is the voice of nature and a written form to celebrate life.

Sincere thanks to VCBA for their time and  dedication to Christian Literature.
Blessings!

Poetry Marathon 2015 DONE!!!

I participated in the Poetry Marathon Challenge 2015. I wrote 24 poems in 24 hours and received an Official Marathon Writer’s Certificate. This phenomenal event is organized by Caitlin Jans (Thomson) andJacob Jans, two writers and web publishers living in the Pacific Northwest.

The Poetry Marathon consists on writing 24 poems in one day. Every hour, you receive a prompt posted in the official website with instructions, information about the style, example or images to inspire you with the writing.
I wrote the 24 poems and edited them over the following months. I sent the best for contest.  One of the poems was selected to participate in one anthology for Authors Talk Book Show in November 2016.
August 13th next Poetry Marathon - Sign-up starts on July 11th 2016

Don’t miss this great leaning opportunity!
