I love your book concept Maritza ! This is a teaching that is often discussed in our home, teaching our children that God loved diversity. We can appreciate that as we observe and appreciate His creations.

Congratulations on publishing your children’s oriented book. The subject is timely, as some parents hand down biased stereotypes to their children for various reasons. Reminds me of the McCartney song “Ebony and IVORY". Perhaps your next novel would cover religious tolerance which I feel is of tantamount significance in global interactions witnessed today.

About Vanilla and Chocolate/Vainilla y Chocolate

First Bilingual Children Book:
About Vanilla and Chocolate/Vainilla y Chocolate
By

Maritza Martinez Mejia 2012

It is a pleasure to present to you my first book of Lessons for Living: Vanilla and Chocolate. A Bilingual Children Book for elementary school and for Beginning Spanish learner students.

Vanilla and Chocolate was published in October 2012. This book was written to help children understand the virtue of Tolerance. This virtue gives a fair attitude toward those whose opinions, race, religion and customs differ from one's own.  Race does not matter as long as you tolerate and appreciate each other’s differences. Vanilla and Chocolate invites the reader to talk with children at home or at school about this topic since each story contains a vocabulary page and questions for discussion.

Summary: A concerned teacher helps two friends be together after their parents refused to let them play because of their skin color.

This book is dedicated to all teachers who dedicate their lives to education.
