Grandma’s Treasure Activities


 Grandma’s Treasure was published in February 2014. This book was written to help children understand the virtue of appreciation. 


Conflict: An upset Grandma teaches their grandchildren a lesson for life to value what they have as she reveals her most valuable treasures when she was a child. 

Main Setting:  Grandma’s Treasure main setting is at the attic where the plot gets to its pick and the development of the story mainly takes place.

1.  An upset Grandma teaches their grandchildren a lesson of life to value what they have as she reveals her most valuable treasures when she was a child. Why do you think Grandma was upset?

2. The Girl is not playing nicely with her brother and Grandma was observing the scene...Guest what happen then? 

3. The Boy was concern about his Grandma…” Where do you think she is?

Vocabulary:
Attic (noun): The part of a house, directly under a roof; garret.
Valuables (adjective): Having considerable monetary worth; costing.
Remarkable (adjective): worthy of notice or attention.
Carve (verb): To cut a solid material as to form something.
Award (noun): Prize, medal, honor received.
Appreciate (transitive verb): Estimate, value, be thankful.

3. What objects were in Grandma’s box?




   
1.      Use Characters, Setting and Events Drawing activity to discuss the topic of Appreciation.


2.    Use Characters, Setting and Events Writing activity to discuss the topic of Gratitude.




3.  After the Read Aloud you can use a Sequence of Events Activity.


        
                 

This story is a tribute to my grandmother who passed away at age one hundred and taught me Lessons for Life.
