Mother, bilingual K-2 teacher, and
award-winning author of her children’s books. She writes to inspire children to
develop a love for reading bilingual and multicultural literature and care
about the environment at an early age.
Her most recent book, Mermaids on a Mission to Save the Oceans
received accolades for its environmental theme by the International Latino Book
Awards and Purple Dragonfly Book Awards.
Janet is the author of The Legend of the Colombian Mermaid, a
story about obedience, family values, and cultural traditions, translated into
Spanish as, La Leyenda de la Sirena
Colombiana, by Maritza M. Mejia.
She is the author of The Legend of Roberto Cofresí -A Puerto Rican Hero, a story about
generosity, loyalty, and cultural traditions. It was translated into Spanish
as, La Leyenda de Roberto Cofresí- Un
héroe de Puerto Rico by Ana Morris.
