Japan Experience LuzDelMes

Author Maritza Mejia at Japan experience2019

The flexibility of my work as a writer and cultural promoter, plus the support of my husband, have allowed me to travel around the world and exchange knowledge with other cultures. I have to admit that the country I met at the beginning of April was not on my list of places to visit, but the children give you surprises and give you wonderful experiences. We undertook a tour of Japan and I have the blessing to enjoy the beauty of the Cherry Blossom Season in the Nipponese Islands.

SAKURA is the name for the cherry blossom, a special and symbolic flower for the people and the country. Japanese fiscal and school year begins in April, the season of Sakura.
During this season, people like to have cherry blossom parties with colleagues, friends, and family. They enjoy eating, drinking, and barbecuing underneath the cherry blossoms.
This tradition is called Hanami, literally means “watching blossoms,” Hanami at night is called Yozakura. 🌸

ARASHIYAMA is the second-most important sightseeing district in Kyoto, Japan. It’s filled with temples and shrines, but the star attraction is the famed Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. The Japanese’s myths and legends have a long history with bamboo, metaphorically linking a man's strength with this plant that invite us to flexible in life. It is not often we get the chance to see bamboo forests in their natural state that grow thick and line the path like they do here in Arashiyama, Kyoto. The most beautiful spot is not at the beginning of the path, but further away past Tenryuji Zen Temple entrance with one of the finest gardens in Kyoto and wonderful mountain views where bamboo grows further apart from each other, allowing it to become thick and beautiful.
