What is advent?

For Christians, Advent season focuses on the expectation of Christ’s birth in the season leading up to Christmas.  Advent lasts for four Sundays before Christmas. 

Each week has a meaning, color and expectation for the preparation:

First Week of HOPE:  Prophet Candle (Purple)

Second Week of PEACE:  Bethlehem Candle (Purple)

Third Week JOY:      Shepherd Candle (Pink)

Four Week LOVE:  Angel Candle (Purple)
