Professor
Masashi Nakamura, Researcher of
Japanese Culture History explains,
The West's first introduction to
haiku was Mr. Basil Hall Chamberlain's great pioneer work, Japanese Poetry
(1910), in a chapter entitled “Bashō and the Japanese Epigram.” However, Haiku
itself was written in the chapter “蛙; frog” in “Exotics and Retrospectives 1898” by Mr. Lafcadio Hearn before
Basil's publication.
Matsuo Bashō (1644-1694) considered the greatest haiku poet: 芭蕉; Bashō was not only the greatest of haikai poets, but also a
traveler. He died in Osaka, and was buried in "義仲寺; Gityuuji temple," Shiga
Prefecture. The temple is the neighborhood of "石山寺; Ishiyama dera Temple “where Murasaki
Shikibu wrote the Tale of Genji.
"Haiku"
and “The Tale of Genji” are both eternal Japanese literature sympathized by the
world.
Around 1000 AD when Murasaki Shikibu wrote “The Tale of Genji", Haiku is
not yet in that era, but Waka was thriving as "Empathy Literature.”
The origin of haiku's history is the formation of Japanese language characters
in the Tale and Waka in that era. One of the most important forms of that
Japanese verse tradition, haiku, remains popular in modern Japan, and in recent
years its popularity has spread to around the world.
Haiku is a poem
with three lines and usually 17 syllables, written in a style that is
traditional in Japan.

Haiku seems to have the power of culture to "open the minds" of the
people in our world. "LuzDelMes Tri-Anthology" will bring
empathy to the world, too. Mather Maritza M. Mejia, sama said " A
